Kids for Life looks for different ways to make a difference each year, with a strong emphasis on education, awareness and preventative efforts for childhood illness to date. We are about reaching our goal of “Happier, Healthier Kids”.
Unlike other charities, we have no full time staff, and no office premises.
We consider ourselves experts at fundraising, but we all have day jobs that take priority occasionally.
And because of these differences, 100% of funds Kids For Life raise go towards the projects we develop, without exception.
These are differences we are incredibly proud of, and we'll continue to protect these differences without compromise.
Our philosophy for making a difference is about finding an immediate need, and diverting 100% of our efforts towards meeting that need with a long term, sustainable solution.
In 2011 we are working to raise money for another very worthwhile and exciting project:
The Kids for Life Child Protection Unit at the Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick
The Child Protection Unit is a specialist psychologist on hand to provide care, counselling and therapies to children who present at the hospital at any time of the day or night who have suffered from physical, sexual or emotional abuse. The Child Protection Unit offers crisis support, long-term counselling, 24hr medical and psychosocial services, education and training for professionals in detection, treatment and prevention of child abuse. Your contribution will make a big difference to the many children affected by abuse each year. Without the support from Kids For Life, the Unit will not exist. It is our hope that this program proves successful enough to warrant either full time government funding in 2012, so Kids For Life can go on and pilot the program in one of the dozens of other hospitals around Australia who require a similar position on staff.
Kids For Life has consistently delivered solutions for kids in Australia, evidenced by the below programs since 2003:
